Pickleball Celebrity Slam 2025

The Pickleball Celebrity Slam 2025 by Panas Express & Astro will be introduced for the very first time, combining elements of sports, entertainment, and healthy lifestyle into one exciting arena. This tournament will take place on 6 & 7 December 2025 at 9Pickle, Setia Alam, and will be broadcast live on Astro Arena (Channel 801) as well as on digital platforms Astro GO & sooka.

Six teams will compete fiercely across four categories: Men’s Doubles, Mixed Doubles, Open Doubles, and Singles. The team owners include Datuk AC Mizal, Tan Boon Heong and Chan Peng Soon (former national badminton players), well-known entrepreneurs Azzim Zahid Azim (also known as Meri, Founder of Bulan Bintang), Ashraf Anuar (Founder of local streetwear brand SVG Worldwide), and Vincent Siow (Founder of Panas Express).

Among the celebrities and former athletes who will be adding excitement to the tournament are Adlin Aman Ramlie, Sharif Zero, Datuk Minarwan Haji Nawawi, and Koo Kien Kiat.

🏆 Prizes

🥇 Champion

The Champion team will receive:

• RM30,000
• Eight (8) Sypik Avatar paddles
• Twenty Four (24) Franklin balls

🥈 Second Place

The Second-Place team will receive:

• RM9,000
• Eight (8) Sypik Avatar paddles
• Twenty Four (24) Franklin balls

🥉 Third Place

The Third-Place team will receive:

• RM4,500
• Eight (8) Sypik Avatar paddles
• Twenty Four (24) Franklin balls

🧩 Tournament Structure

The Pickleball Celebrity Slam 2025 features an exciting two-stage format designed to deliver nonstop action, high-energy matchups, and unforgettable moments on court.

🔷 Stage 1: League Stage

All teams will face off in five (5) matches, competing against every team within the league.
Each match consists of the following categories, played in this sequence:

1. Men’s Doubles
2. Mixed Doubles 1
3. Mixed Doubles 2
4. All-Gender Doubles

Teams accumulate points throughout the League Stage to determine standings and advancement.

📊 Point System

• Win the series : 3 points
• Draw the series : 1 point
• Lose the series : 0 points

🏁 Series Outcome Definitions

• Win Condition: 3–1 or 4–0
• Draw Condition: 2–2
• Lose Condition: 1–3 or 0–4

⚠️ Match Completion
All four (4) match categories must be played in full, even if the overall match outcome has already been decided.

📈 League Stage Standings

Standings will be determined in the following order of priority:

1. Total Points accumulated
2. Sets Won vs. Sets Lost
3. Set Differential (Sets Won − Sets Lost)
4. Points Differential (Points Scored − Points Conceded)

🔶 Stage 2: Knockout Stage (Semifinals, Bronze, Final)

The top-performing teams from the League Stage will advance to the Knockout Stage.
From this point forward, any tied team match will be decided by the Dreambreaker, an electrifying rotating singles tiebreaker that guarantees a thrilling finish.

👥 Team Composition

Every pair across all categories must feature:

• 1 Celebrity Player, and
• 1 Semi-Professional or Professional Player

This unique format blends star power with elite gameplay, delivering a competitive yet entertaining spectacle for fans and participants alike.

📲 All teams are required to submit their official line-up at least one hour before their scheduled match via the BASELINE app.

🔥 Dreambreaker Format

The Dreambreaker will be used to determine the winner only if a match ends in a 2–2 tie during the Semifinals, Bronze Match, or Finals.

🧩 When It Happens

A Dreambreaker is triggered only in knockout stages (Semifinals, Bronze, Final) after four match categories if the score is tied 2–2.

👤 Player Lineup

Each team must nominate six (6) players for the Dreambreaker:

• First 3 positions: Registered celebrity players
• Next 3 positions: Registered semi-professional or professional players

The order must remain fixed once submitted.

🔄 Rotation & Rally Format

• Each player plays four (4) consecutive rallies before rotating to the next player.
• After the sixth player completes their rotation, play returns to Player 1, continuing cyclically until one team wins the Dreambreaker.

📝 General Notes

• Standard singles rules apply during all Dreambreaker points.

* Teams may not substitute or reorder their rotation once the Dreambreaker begins.

🔷 Stage 1: League Stage

• Rally format
• 15 points per set
• 1 set per category
• 1 timeout (1 min) per set
• Win by 2 points at 14–14

🔶 Stage 2: Knockout Stage

• Rally format
• 21 points per set
• 1 set per category
• 1 timeout (1 min) per set
• Win by 2 points at 20–20

🔥 Dreambreaker (Tiebreaker)

• Rally Format
• 21 points
• No timeouts
• No deuce – Sudden Death at 20–20
